Our story

This is not recycling. It is redesign.

FFM is a women-led studio in Delhi that turns existing textile waste and rescued textiles into utility statement pieces.

Every pre-owned fabric is deconstructed, reinforced, mapped, restructured, lined and finished by hand, so no two are the same.

textiles transformed. stories carried forward.

Why textile transformation matters.

Usable textiles are often left behind in wardrobes, production units and organisations. We see possibility in them.

  • 92million tonnes

of textile waste is created worldwide every year.

  • 85%

of all textiles are thrown away before their time.

  • 8% only

of textile fibres made in 2023 came from recycled sources.

Where our textiles come from

Our artisans work with each material's character to give it a useful new form and a story that continues.

Post-consumer textiles

Existing. Outgrown. Set aside.

Denim and other suitable fabrics contributed by individuals, communities and organisations.

Pre-consumer textiles

Surplus. Offcuts. Unused.

Suitable offcuts, surplus fabric and unused materials from production units.

From fabric to future.

We begin with what already exists. Clothes that are outgrown or set aside are not the end of a product's life. They are our raw material. Design comes first, and the impact is built into the process.

  1. Assess

We check each garment for condition, character and usable details.

  2. Map

Pockets, fades and seams are planned into the new pattern.

  3. Deconstruct

The garment is taken apart with care, panel by panel.

  4. Reinforce

Structure and rescued lining fabrics give shape and strength.

  5. Craft

Artisans stitch each bag and fit the hardware by hand.

  6. Finish

A final quality check, then careful packing and dispatch.

Your textiles are only the beginning.

Whether it is one pair of jeans from an individual or surplus stock from an organisation, we redesign it with carefully selected materials, structural support, functional details and skilled craftsmanship.

  • 01

    Your textiles, post- and pre-consumer

Existing denim from individuals, or rescued fabric, surplus and deadstock from organisations and production units. Each material is assessed and mapped by its condition and character.

  • 02

    Rescued companion textiles

Surplus felt, lining fabrics and denim offcuts are brought back into use wherever the design allows.

  • 03

    Structure and lining

Reinforcement, a finished lining and useful interior details give each piece its shape, strength and everyday usability.

  • 04

    Hardware and detailing

Closures, rings, handles and carefully chosen details complete each transformation.

Your textiles bring the story. We bring the design, materials and craftsmanship that carry it forward.

Materials and details may vary according to the product design, its use and the condition of the textiles supplied.

The world does not lack materials. It lacks new ways of seeing them.

FFM does not make products to explain responsibility. We make products worth owning, where responsibility already sits inside the design. This is not recycling. This is design as continuation. From fabric to future.
